Merry fucking Christmas to the scrooge at Walmart

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Mine was great until 10:00 pm Christmas day. That’s when I noticed the developing flat on one of my tires.  A Cape Breton pot hole claimed not only 1 tire but two as well as a set of rims. Then to compound the problem is the Grinch like Walmart employee that I tried to make a warranty claim from.  Two winter tires developed blisters on the side wall. One of them even has a hole in it. Of course Walmart (store level) denied any responsibility so I was stuck buying 2 more tires. Why Walmart again you may ask. It is because the size of tire is hard to get. Low profile 16 inch tires are hard to find. Knowing I was over the barrel , i bit the bullet and got the tires. Walmart could not even install them as the rims were bent and they had no rims in stock. So it was a trip to Crappy Tire for 2 rims and installation.  So after that was all done I managed to get on the road and arrive in Halifax just as it started to snow/rain/freezing rain/ice pellet.

 But for everyone else I hope their Christmas was a bit more Merrier than mine. I await the new Year with baited breath.

Get the fuck out of my face.

Ahhhhhh the Holiday season. The excitement of Christmas. The blood crazed shoppers at the mall.  The annual fruitcake that will either get chucked or be used as a door stop. Right now I am so sick of charity. That’s right. Charity. or more precisely charities. You can not walk more than 30 feet before someone will either approach you asking for a donation to help the “needy” or you pass some static display requesting your donation.  Whether it is the Salvation Army or some other local group raising money, I am frankly tired of it. Donor fatigue they call it. I am just annoyed to no end.   Of course it is all about the “children”.  Of course there are more help wanted signs out and I am thinking maybe their parents should take one of these jobs.  But that would be too much to ask. 

Then there are the squeegee kids that hang out and come bumming for money. Or my personal favorite the kids with a pet sitting on the street bumming for money. Maybe they should get a job as paid volunteers as taser targets. I say $50 for a few hours work. But that is a thought. So happy Holidays. I promise I will try not to be a Grinch but no guarantees.

Snow on a Sunday

Well it is Sunday and I am in at work. It sucks working on a Sunday. So while there is some time I figure I would vent about almost anything.  It is now starting to snow. Of course it wouldn’t snow earlier and leave a mess so I could avoid work today. It sucks for storms on a Sunday. So here I sit on a crappy Sunday and watching the snow fall. Of course there is the work.  The joys of having a customer scream at you because they have done something dumb and that there is no fix to it.  For example if you enable the security password on a BlackBerry, if you forget your password there is no way in hell that anyone can override the security feature to unlock it for you. After 10 failed attempts, your data is going to get deleted. Of course there is too much valuable data on it and they have never backed up the device. It sucks to be them. So enjoy the snow.

Another day at the Office

Well here I am working OT at the office. Somebody shake me. I must be nuts. I think my total work week from last Sunday to this Saturday will be a whopping 85 hours. It is Wednesday and I feel like I have been run over by a truck. I suspect by Saturday at 3 pm I will be throwing myself under the nearest steam roller.

 The saddest fundraiser I have seen was today. We have an angel tree in which children of various ages can be provided with a gift for Christmas. It is run by the Salvation Army. Anyways they are having a 50/50 draw to raise money for the remaining ones who were not selected. I find it sad that a fund raiser has to be held in a place where people could spare 20-25 for a gift so that some kid at least has something on Christmas day other than a lump of coal.   I just shake my head.

Some Good news on the Angel tree. All the tags are now gone.  I am hoping it  means people decided to select the remaining tags and breakdown and get a gift for a child. It is Thursday I think. I have done some much ot and work that I think I have lost track of the day of the week. I started this blog on Wednesday and now finish it on Thursday seems to be my pace.

Snow!!!

Well it is Monday and what a way to start the work week. Nothing says Monday like snow. That white crap which for the next 6 months will fall more plentifully than Lindsay Lohan from her rehab stint. The forecast is for a cold winter. Global Warming my ass. This weekend it was ball numbing cold. Not so  much for the actual temperature but for the windchill. Windchill is that extra kick to the groin. So the forecast is for 10 to 15 centimeters (4-6 inches) and the way people bought salt and gas at the Blue Canoe this morning you would think that the forecast was for 50 centimeters or more. Of course Dave gets to avoid all this snow laden crap. yes they have fires but still he gets to avoid the snow laden crap. and of course there will be idiots driving as if the streets were dry. anyways have a happy Monday.
